Daisy

In 1888, with their windmill business faltering, Hamilton approached the company with a new invention—an all-metal airgun. After firing the prototype, the company’s general manager famously exclaimed, “Boy, that’s a Daisy!”—and the name stuck. What began as a promotional premium for windmill buyers quickly became the company’s true calling. By 1895, windmills were out, airguns were in, and the company officially became the Daisy Manufacturing Company.

An Enduring Legacy From the humble beginnings of that first BB gun, Daisy went on to shape generations of shooters and outdoor enthusiasts. The brand further solidified its place in history by acquiring the Markham Air Rifle Company—its early competitor—in the early 20th century, and eventually absorbing the King Manufacturing Company, further expanding its reach and innovation.

In 1958, Daisy relocated to Rogers, Arkansas, where it continues to operate today as one of the most recognized names in the world of airguns.

Tradition Meets Innovation Daisy remains a cornerstone of American shooting sports, famous for timeless classics like the Red Ryder and for pioneering performance in models like the PowerLine series and Avanti competition air rifles. Through ongoing innovation and unwavering quality, Daisy continues to inspire new generations of shooters—both recreational and competitive.
